She has performed across the country at festivals such as Art of the

dancers, like Sera Solstice, Sharon Kihara, and Ebony Qualls. She is a
current core member and principal dancer of Solstice Tribe, directed
by Sera Solstice.

As a soloist, Serena is known for her boundless energy, precise
technique, and commanding stage presence. A lover of unpredictable
movement, her work flows seamlessly from African to salsa, bellydance
to ballet, and hip hop to modern. Serena is ready to bring some
Afropop swagger to the Electric Vardo Tribal Fest After Party in the
form of a duet with Ebony.

KAZOO PRODUCTIONS

KazooPromoPhoto1-WebReady

Two years ago, Kazoo productions covered our afterparty- this year, we are pleased to welcome them back!!

Proudly providing a direct gateway to the ego for over a decade.

KAZOO PRODUCTIONS is a grass-roots multimedia company located in the Edmonton, Alberta region. We provide professional photography, videography, graphic design and media consultation services for local events/performances.
As a husband and wife team with a lifelong interest in the creative use of audio/visual media to tell a story, we decided we’d dedicate ourselves to the pursuit of what we both loved to do. So, surrounded one evening by the Kaplan zoo, our family of rescued pets, “KAZOO” was born.
When asked about our capture of performance art and dance, we like to say we take the “Fred Astaire” approach. In Mr. Astaire’s contracts he specifically stated that all filming should include the entire dancer’s body and movements without zooming or cutting. In doing so you capture the creation of dance. This leaves the artist direction not in the hands of the videographer or editor, but in that of the dancer where it belongs.

RECKLESS PHOTOGRAPHY

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

We met Rufio a few years back, and since then- it’s always been a pleasure to see him working events and shooting great photography. This year, he’s back at the Afterparty with a photo booth! He got some fun shots last year, so don’t miss your chance to make a memory of your Tribal Fest weekend!

Reckless Photography is blatant disregard for all that is content with normality, and creative expression that attempts to juxtapose the everyday with both passion and grit. Otherwise known as Rufio van Hoover, Reckless Photography has notably worked with Kami Liddle’s Gold Star Dance Company and Zoe Jakes’ House of Tarot in 2014, and regularly with Luciterra as their official photographer. Commonly found at side stage shooting performances, and tempting you into the photobooth at afterparties, Reckless Photography is excited once again to see you at Tribal Fest. Please take the time to introduce yourself when you get the chance!
